Grappa alla Ruta Villa Cardea is classified by Italian law as a flavoured Grappa. Ruta means Rue and the amount used in Villa Cardea is carefully measured by the Master Stillman to ensure the Grappa receives a well balanced release of the much sought after Rue bitter flavour.

Grappa di Barrique Villa Cardea is aged in wood and is made from a delicate aromatic grape. This combination  allows for a  maturation  period providing smoothness and a lingering mellow dry flavour with a note of vanilla typical of a Barolo-based grappa.

Grappa di Moscato Villa Cardea  is produced from the moscato grape grown in the historical surrounding areas of Asti and Alba in Piedmont, northwest Italy. Aged in wood the grappa is exceptionally smooth, clean and lively in alpine herbal aromas.

ALTENO

Alteno Grappa di Chianti is produced every year in limited quantities. Distilled in Tuscany  at an altitude of 345 metres above sea level using only the finest Sangiovese grapes. The aroma is clean and intense with hints of spring flowers. Very fruity with lush flavours of fresh peach, black cherry and raspberry. The finish is delicately smooth and mellow.

Villa Cardea Nero d'Avola is the coming together of climate, soil, the local Sicilian grape, Nero d'Avola, and the inspiration of the Master Distiller. This combination brings out the full expression of flavour and silky texture, from blueberry to spicy notes of nutmeg, with hints of vanilla and liquorice.

Our Nero d'Avola grape originates from the southern tip of Sicily where this black grape was selected by growers near the village of Avola centuries ago, and its wines are comparable to New World Shirazes, with sweet tannins, plum and peppery flavours.
